HP Easy Scan Saved the Day I downloaded HP Easy Scan to my new iMac Pro and once the download completed and the App opened, I went to devices on my computer and clicked on my office 'HP OfficeJet Pro 8600' Icon - immediately my computer started downloading a new print driver file. Option 1 – Scan From Computer. Ensure the HP software is installed. Windows Users can go to 'Start' 'HP' 'HP Scan'. Load your document on the glass or face up in the document feeder. Select 'Print, Scan & Fax' 'Scan a Document or Photo'. Choose the type of scan you want, then select 'Scan'.
Scan to a computer
To scan an original to a computer from the printer control panel
NOTE: If your printer is connected to a network and you are scanning to a
Windows computer, before you can scan from the control panel, you need to
enable scanning from the software. From the computer desktop, click Start, select
Programs or All Programs, select the folder for your HP printer, and then select
the option for your HP printer. Double-click Scanner Actions, double-click Manage
Scan to Computer, and then click Enable.

Use these steps to scan from the control panel.
1.
Load your original print-side down in the right-front corner of the glass or in the
ADF. For more information, see Load an original on the scanner glass or Load an
original in the automatic document feeder (ADF).
2.
Touch Scan, and then select Computer.
3.
Make changes to scan options, if needed.
4.
Touch Start Scan.

To scan an original from HP scanning software
1.
Load your original print-side down in the right-front corner of the glass or in the
ADF. For more information, see Load an original on the scanner glass or Load an
original in the automatic document feeder (ADF).

Windows: From the computer desktop, click Start, select Programs or All
Programs, select the folder for your HP printer, and then select HP Scan.

Mac OS X: Double-click the HP Scan 3 icon. This icon is located in the
Hewlett-Packard folder that is in the Applications folder at the top level of
the hard disk.
3.
Select a scan shortcut. Apps for macbook pro retina. Make changes to the scan settings, if needed.

To start the scan, click Scan.
NOTE: Use the HP software to scan documents into editable text, a format that
allows you to search, copy, paste, and edit within the scanned document. Use this
format to edit letters, newspaper clippings, and many other documents. For more

Scan an image
You can start a scan from your computer or from the HP All-in-One. This section
explains how to scan from the control panel of the HP All-in-One only.
To use the scan features, the HP All-in-One and computer must be connected and
turned on. The HP Photosmart Software (Windows) or HP Photosmart Mac Software
(Mac) must also be installed and running on your computer prior to scanning.

On a Windows computer, look for the
HP Digital Imaging Monitor
icon in the
Windows system tray (at the lower right side of the screen, near the time) to verify
the software is running.

system tray can cause the HP All-in-One to lose some of its scan
functionality and result in the
No Connection
error message. If this
happens, you can restore full functionality by restarting your computer or
by starting the HP Photosmart Software.
